This Book Club hosted by South Asian American Digital Archive (SAADA) and cosponsored by the APA Studies Program explores the history of South Asian America, spanning from the 1780s through the present day, and various aspects of the South Asian American experience, from civic engagement to family. Each chapter of the book recently published by SAADA—OUR STORIES: An Introduction to South Asian America—offers stories of struggle, resistance, inspiration, and joy that disrupt dominant narratives that have erased South Asian Americans’ role in U.S. history and made restrictions on our belonging. The Book Club discussion is open to both those who read the book AND those who haven’t but want to listen in and learn from the conversation. The first of the series is online at 7pm on Sunday, January 30th.
