Hanaa Yoo is a fourth-year student at Michigan State University in the James Madison College (JMC) majoring in Comparative Cultures and Politics with minors in Korean, Asian Pacific American Studies, and business. In addition to serving as a programming assistant for APA Studies, she is also a programming coordinator in the Office of Justice Equity and Inclusion at JMC. Hanaa is a student leader in the Asian Pacific Islander Desi American/ Asian (APIDA/A) community at MSU, currently serving as the senior advisor for the Asian Pacific American Student Organization (APASO) and has served as the chair for MSU’s APIDA/A Heritage Month for the past 3 years. Hanaa hopes to further her law career by becoming a paralegal after graduation and then attending law school.
Lin Cabada is a second-year student completing dual degrees in Political Science and Linguistics with a minor in APA Studies. As a Program Assistant for APA Studies, she supports the program by promoting and marketing via social media and newsletter, and by assisting with the programming of events. She is also an active member of the Grand Rapids Asian Pacific Foundation and has worked on implementing internship and grant opportunities in the foundation. Her other roles include being a Student Research Assistant for the MI Diaries Project, and this academic year she will be serving as the Vice President of Mixed MSU and as an Intern for the Academic Scholars Program Advisory Council.
